This corner café with its footpath seating and cosy interior has got me trawling the real estate market for a West Perth abode. The patrons are a mixed bunch of locals, the business crew, and those venturing from further afield. The interior is fitted out with old style chairs hanging from the ceiling, and old fashioned mirrors on the walls. The produce used is fresh, and this is reflected in the menu. If you’re starting to wonder why there are so many chefs in the kitchen, it’s because they’re making their pastries and bread from scratch. Lunch is a mix of goods from the small display cabinet or the deliciously appealing menu. Start with a rabbit terrine or quinoa and roast pumpkin salad, accompanied by a raspberry and star anise iced tea. Follow it up with a coffee and a homemade dessert from the display on the rustic timber table. Don’t forget to take home one of their famous freshly baked baguettes on your departure. Also open for dinner on Thursday to Saturday nights.
