Nestled in the new developments on Newcastle Street in Northbridge (between William and Beaufort Streets), The Tuck Shop is an honest and appealing little eatery. As well as serving up an inspired breakfast menu that changes daily and light lunchtime eats, the specialties of the house are the pies, baked by chef and co-owner Paul Cherry. Each individual pie is made one at a time, using hand rolled pastry and melt in your mouth, slow cooked meat: it’s a labour of love.
Opt to sit back and have lunch served to you in their bright and airy space, or purchase an uncooked pie, still in its pie tin, to cook at home. You’ll need to pay for the tin but it will be credited when you bring it back for more pies! Paul, along with his business partners Iva and Vanessa, want to make life easy for you, and have targeted their business towards busy locals and nearby, time starved office workers. The clean and simple fit out of The Tuck Shop suits this approach, but the warm and friendly service and the comfort food means that you’ll feel right at home sitting back and savouring the savouries.
