Inspired by the classic comfort food of grilled cheese and its popularity in the US, David Manuel launched his food truck The Melt Hub back in November 2015. From the mobile black box you can expect handcrafted combinations of old-school comfort food with new-school flavours “with an Anglo-French American twist,” says David. Think gourmet melts and burgers. David takes the classic cheese and carb combo and turns it into something a bit fancy, a bit gourmet, and a lot delicious.

This weekend the Good Food and Wine Show will take over the Perth Convention Exhibition Centre, with visiting celebrity chefs as well as our most admired locals in appearance. It will feature hundreds of exhibitors, each showcasing their latest and most innovative products ranging from meats, cheeses, fresh produce, desserts, wine, and beer to cookbooks, kitchen appliances and gadgets. Popular patissier and macaron king Adriano Zumbo is coming to town for the show, and we sat down for a quick chat.
“Rock star chef” Jay Tesorero earned his reputation as a chef to the stars when working at a major hotel. Nowadays he wants to cook for you and me from his post as head chef at Academy in Claremont. While the doors of Academy have been open for a little while, the all day café officially launches today, Wednesday 18 May, and will add a dinner service starting tomorrow.
