Beloved for bringing Middle Eastern cuisine to the people of Perth via their market stall and pop-up eatery in Trinity Arcade, The Hummus Club has finally landed in Northbridge, much to our delight. As the name suggests, hummus is a major part of the menu, but the deliciousness doesn’t stop there.
The stars behind The Hummus Club are Kaitlin and Ziad Zammar, an ex-pharmacist and ex-engineer respectively, who are passionate about sharing their culture and making people happy through their food. Kaitlin was born and raised in Perth while Ziad was born in Lebanon but has spent most of his life here. The pair are inspired by the flavours used in Ziad’s hometown, and many of their recipes have been gathered by visits back home to his family and tweaked for the restaurant.
The Hummus Club offers four dishes with hummus as a base – turning what is often thought of as a side dish or a snack into the star of the show. We highly recommend the hummus with mushroom – oh my! Other highlights on the menu include the Pita Crisps (seriously addictive), Lamb Kefta (with pomegranate and labneh) and Tatya’s Doughnuts for a sweet treat to finish the meal.
On the drinks list you’ll find majority Western Australian wines and beers, with some Lebanese drops on offer as well. For something soft, try the pomegranate lemonade!
Don’t miss the mural by calligraphy and light artist Karim Jabbari, featuring beautiful, hand painted, Arabic script along the wall.
Currently The Hummus Club are open from 5-10pm Tuesday to Sunday. Find them at 258 William Street, Northbridge.
