Spotlight On Neighborhood Pizza

Listen up guys, because if you haven’t already discovered the new pizza place in Mt Hawthorn, then you cannot miss this!

Neighborhood Pizza opened last weekend, and has quickly become one of our top haunts. Located down a laneway off Scarborough Beach Road, access to this joint comes off the car park at the back of the Mt Hawthorn IGA. Or follow your nose. The warehouse style set up is the perfect mix of sleek and stylish, and casual and relaxed.

Arriving early, Ben and Claire headed up the back to the beautiful, old pool table and racked up a few games, while blues music on the stereo set the scene.

Once the rest of the team arrived we got stuck into ordering a feast. Toppings like fennel sausage and roasted tomato; prosciutto, jalapeno, pineapple and ricotta; and our unanimous favourite of sweet potato, potato, rosemary and chilli maple (oh my goodness) were all incredibly moreish. The menu is seasonal, but if the flavour combinations on offer with this, its first incarnation, are anything to go by, then you will not be hard pressed to find something mouthwateringly good. In fact, your biggest challenge will be to avoid the temptation to try them all in one visit! We recommend heading with a group so you can sample a few in one sitting.

The venue is kid friendly, with crayons and paper galore down one corner of the space. Everyone is welcome!

Neighborhood is BYO, so don’t forget to bring a bottle to enjoy alongside your meal.

  • NOT CHILD FRIENDLY

by Elia on August 19, 2012 at 8:45 pm
  • Pizza was nice but dry evening was ruined when we where told children had to stop

by Elia on August 19, 2012 at 8:59 pm
  • The Neighbourhood is what I have been loving about Perth lately. These new places are popping up everywhere and I hope it continues.

@Elia, I am going tonight and looking forward to enjoying a nice red and fantastic pizza in the company of happy families and their well behaved children. The Neighborhood IS child friendly. You just may have been on the end of someone sick and tired of parents taking their children out and expecting the wait staff to look after them.

Well done to all involved, I may find it hard to get a seat soon as I haven’t stopped talking about it…

  • So great to hear you’re a Neighborhood lover too John, we can’t stop talking about it either – people would almost think we’re getting paid to spruik them! We thought the place was child friendly for a local joint that pulls in a relatively hip and young crowd, so we’re sorry to hear you didn’t have such a great experience when visiting Elia. Hope next time is better for you!

by DD on November 28, 2012 at 1:57 pm
  • Hi DD, no I don’t believe they have a published number. But the service is fast and the menu changes, so it’s best to pop in and order on the spot. Yum!

  • Love it! Definitely child friendly! (Nobody appreciates children who run around yelling in a restaurant while trying to enjoy their meal.)
Keep up the great work Neighbourhood Pizza!
