Mount Lawley is still mourning the loss of Antonio’s Italian delicatessen in the heartland of Beaufort Street. Thankfully, if you take a quick five minute drive (or equally speedy train ride) to Maylands, you will find all your European deli desires.
Opened in 2011, Smoult’s is owned by two lovely ladies who are passionate about gourmet food, and a good sing-a-long. When you walk into Smoult’s, you are overcome with the aroma of freshly baked bread, as all the bread is prepared in France, frozen, and baked fresh on the premises.
Smoult’s also offers an impressive range of delectable Italian meats and cheeses, pickled vegetables, flavoured frizzante, as well as homemade salads, organic chocolates, and a bevy of other continental treats. If you just want to pop in for a delicious lunchtime continental roll, or if you want to get a spread for a bigger occasion, Smoult’s can cater for all occasions, offering up picnic hampers, catering and gift baskets. Andrew.
