If Neighborhood Pizza is not your local, the simple answer is to move house. After spending a few years in the US, and inspired by the casual barn style eateries over there, the owners, who have years of hospitality experience under their belt, have come home to develop a casual yet slick eatery. The industrial fit out is a natural look for this refurbished basement accessed from a laneway. There’s a pool table in one corner, hand made long tables and great rock ‘n’ roll and blues on the speakers. Far from being sterile, it is a warm and welcoming place. The true hero is the imported Italian wood fired pizza oven that produces sublime, thin crust, moreish pizzas that change with the seasons. The wine list is whatever you choose, as Neighborhood is BYO. We got a little crazy for the sweet potato number. Steph and Patrick have worked on this baby for nearly 2 years and by god, it’s worth the wait. Dave.
