Meeka Restaurant is an absolute Middle Eastern pleasure for the senses. From the heady aromas that stream across from nearby tables, to the tantalising mix of flavours left on your tastebuds, there really is no substitute in the Subiaco area. The decor is simplebut nice, allowing the food to take prime place, and with a fairly large and open seating area towards the back of the restaurant, this would be a great spot to head to for a group dinner.
Start with a peach aperitif paired with stuffed dates and zucchini, leek and goat fetta croquettes. Alternatively, try the mezze plate if you don’t want to settle on one or two choices. For the mains you really can’t go past a tajine. This is what they’re known for, and for good reason too, as they are absolutely sublime. The lamb tajine braised with ras al hanout, zucchini, prunes, pimento, and topped with harissa sesame roasted almonds is melt in the mouth delicious! The menu also sports other options including a whole roasted spatchcock and a twice cooked spiced duck leg. Pair it with a fattoush salad, but make sure you leave room for a turkish delight stuffed doughnut, or homemade sorbet served with Persian fairy floss for dessert.
