Lawleys bake up a storm every morning, with rows of fresh loaves lining the walls. You can’t go wrong with the breads on offer, so don’t be daunted by the options, and don’t worry if your favourite is sold out. But if possible, grab one of the ciabatte (with or without olives) next time you’re invited to someone’s house, or try the seeded sour loaf for a high energy package full of seeds and goodness. It’s definitely with their loaves, rather than their pastries, that Lawleys excel, but the petit fours and cakes are also irresistible. Sweet little fruit, lemon meringue or chocolate tarts make lovely treats.
Lawleys also offer classic, café breakfasts and lunches with eggs galore, sandwiches and rolls (as you’d expect) and a few fresh salads, too. And if you drop by just before close you’ll be met with buy-one-get-one-free loaves! Claire.
